Condo: you own the unit’s interior; common areas are shared, so condo fees are usually higher and the corporation’s rules apply to your tenant.
Townhouse: you usually own the structure and the land, share one or two walls, and pay lower or no common fees.
Apartment in a multi-unit building: you own the building, so every repair, common area and shared system is yours to maintain.
